Welcome to Bassajamba, our newest tenants, a social enterprise doing great work in promoting diversity in science, tech and health across Manchester.
"We collaborate with a range of stakeholders including the community/voluntary sector, marginalised groups, academia and industry. Our vision is a future where science and tech can work to the benefit of all.
We plan and organise audacious and inspiring science based projects for hard to reach or underrepresented groups. We have piloted several initiatives including a music inspired programme of workshops within deprived areas with scientists from Manchester University, a digital tool for autistic children which uses stories captured from Migrant communities and our newest initiative will work toward prevention of domestic abuse through work with Manchester Dental School. Our ethos is to value the resources, needs, achievement and contribution of all communities for nothing short of revolutionising diversity within science, tech and health."
